Once enabled, this feature will literally lock a site within its folder, so if an attacker takes over it, the other websites in the account will be hidden. Thus they will be resistant to further intrusion. The JailHost option does not mean that you should not keep your websites updated, but it'll significantly reduce the damage.

JailHost in Shared Hosting

You can take full advantage of JailHost with every single shared hosting plan that we provide and protect your websites against attacks quick and easy. Every single domain and subdomain in the Hepsia Control Panel that comes with our plans has a separate folder and in contrast to what can often happen with many other Control Panels, the content isn't mixed within a single main folder, so keeping the Internet sites separate will be much easier. Enabling JailHost for any site takes just a couple of clicks, so even if you do not have a lot of experience, you will not need any specific skills in order to maintain your websites secure. The option isn't active by default in case that you would like to use some script which requires accessibility to another folder inside your account. If you use JailHost, the remaining websites that you have will be secured, but even a hacked one will not remain damaged for too long as we'll have a couple of daily backup copies for it all the time, so we could promptly restore it.

JailHost in Semi-dedicated Servers

JailHost comes with all our semi-dedicated server solutions and you can activate it with a couple of clicks. It is not turned on by default as we do not want to prevent some scripts that require to access multiple folders in the account from working properly. You will be able to enable JailHost for all other websites that you have from the Hepsia Control Panel and you can do this very easily even when you do not have any previous experience. What enables us to offer JailHost is the way Hepsia maintains multiple domains - they all have individual folders which can be "locked". In contrast, other widespread Control Panels have add-on domains and their content is kept in the primary domain folder, so in case a single site is hacked, the entire account is hacked, which is not the case with Hepsia. In case a site gets damaged despite your efforts, we'll be able to recover it the way it was very quickly because we'll store several daily backup copies of your entire account.
